The key to a successful analytics program success is an analytics strategy, one that is aligned to your business strategy and supported by a data strategy.
Most organizations have many of the elements of a strategy but they are too often not well documented, communicated or fully implemented. Analytics teams are too busy keeping up with day to data and analytics demands and hence the strategy gets short changed. A 2-3 roadmap should be part of your strategy.
In addition a Data Analytics Center of Excellence or Competency Center should also be put in place to operationalize the strategy, share best practices and ensure ongoing communication.
